I must say, Mike, that the shear bookkeeping effort on these battles is commendable. I don't know how you can keep it all straight!
I must take you a couple of HOURS to crank through each turn with 4,500 or so points on the table.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the sentiment. It is quite a time sink for sure. Its one of the reasons why I’m always pressing for the players to get their stuff turned in ASAP, because I have limited time chunks that I can process turns, so when those time chunks become available I like to have something I can work on.
This is the main reason why I limit the first round of games to 500 points, otherwise it would turn into a full time job just processing 3000 point battles for all those games. lol
I’ll give you a snap shot of what my computer screen looks like:
· First tab: Foxfire – within Foxfire I have several tabs up (e-mail, V4B site [sometimes 2 depending on what I’m doing], and an Army Builder HTML army list tab for each army I’m processing)
· Second tab: Open folder to access V4B stuff when needed
· Third tab: Excel spreadsheet – within Excel I have 11 tabs (Battle Matrix [keeps track of who plays who which mission, VP’s, CP’s, win-losses etc], a tab for each army which has formulas pre-programmed to calculate CP’s when I put in the casualties, and 1 tab for each battle between Obitus and the Players to track CP’s)
· Forth tab: V4B rules word document
· Fifth tab: Word document cheat sheet that contains common 40K V5 charts
· Sixth tab: Word document that I use to track turn info on (each army has its own document). I use this sheet to cut and paste into the V4B Blog site when a turn is completed processing.
· Seventh tab: Power Point document that has all of the Unit marker icons for each army for each size unit marker and vehicle facing, 40K templates, etc.
· Eighth tab: Power point map I’m currently processing a turn for.
· Ninth tab: PDF file of 40K V5 rules for reference
· Tenth tab: PDF file for Army X Codex for reference
· Eleventh tab: PDF file for Army Y Codex for reference
· Twelfth tab: PDF file for Army Z Codex for reference
· Thirteenth tab: Music player – have to have music playing
· And finally… I may on occasion have other PDF’s up of Eratta’s/FAQ’s up for reference
This is all to process a typical V4B turn. LOL
Now you can understand why I could never in a million years process a turn at work or at school. Not in my current job at least. :)
The long of the short of it is… yes it’s a huge time commitment, but as long as you guys are enjoying it, than I’m thrilled to do it. :)
